The first step in building custom suspension is determining what joint is needed for the vehicles application. In the article below we to go over what options we offer and explain when, where and why to use each suspension joint we offer. Keep in mind that not all styles are available in each size listed.
Heim Joints provide the most strength and articulation of all the suspension joints available. The utilitarian design of this style does not incorporate a large bushing to absorb NVH (noise, vibration, & harshness) tailoring itself more to race or trail applications. Heim Joints are available in a few styles we have three listed below.
3 Piece Series Heim
• Silver Zinc plated, heat treated chromoly body
• Reinforced Kevlar with ptfe liner
• 52100 bearing steel chrome plated ball
2 Piece Series Heim
• Chrome plated, heat treated chromoly body
• Reinforced injected nylon liner with ptfe
• 52100 bearing steel chrome plated ball
Magnum Series Heims.
• Chrome plated, heat treated chromoly body
• Reinforced injected nylon liner with ptfe liner
• 52100 bearing steel chrome plated ball
• Extended shank for more thread engagement and adjustability
What is PTFE?
Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) is a synthetic compound known for being resistant to high temperatures, non-wetting, hydrophobic and high density. PTFE is an incredibly versatile material and is ideal for suspension joints. Basically, this insures the joints will cycle well articulate smoothly and resist water damage to the liners.
The Forged chromoly poly Joint is ideal for suspension linkage. The Polyurethane bushings absorb NVH and provides the rigidity needed to keep a bent control arm or trailing arm from twisting. This joint features a rebuildable and greaseable body allowing it to be serviced when heim joints would need to be replaced.
The Forged Chromoly Poly Joint
• Greaseable & rebuildable forged chromoly body
• Polyurethane bushings
• Internal DOM sleeve
The Enduro Joint is the best of both worlds. Incorporating a large forged chromoly body, spherical bearing and polyurethane bushings. This joint will articulate well and absorb NVH to perform well on and off road. With its rebuildable and greaseable body the Joint can be serviced when heim joints would need to be replaced. Due to the articulation limits of this joint style, it is best suited for an overland style build where comfort is prioritized.
The Enduro Joint.
• Greaseable & Rebuildable

• Polyurethane bushings
• Internal chromoly Ball
• Retaining washer
• Snap ring
